About TransExperiences
TransExperiences is a public archive of qualitative health research, preserving the personal stories and experiences of trans and gender-diverse young people and their families.
Why this archive exists
When the original websites hosting this research were decommissioned by MS-HERG (research group at the University of Oxford), this archive was created to ensure the research remained publicly accessible. The people who shared their stories did so to help others — patients, families, carers, and health professionals — understand what it is really like to be trans and gender diverse.
What you'll find here
Each topic in the archive contains:
- Research sections — thematic summaries written by the research team, covering different aspects of people's experiences
- Video clips — short recordings of participants describing their experiences in their own words
- Transcripts — written versions of the video content, available for each clip
- Participant profiles — brief background information about the people who took part
